Tip: Disable automatic restart after updates

System,  automatic updates of Windows do you death,  you might lose information, because

non-impulse – its controlled to reset . But there’s a simple solution

No doubt this is one of the most annoying features of Windows: After installing this update from Windows Update, the system will notify you that you need to reset . If you refuse politely, she repeatedly bully you into submission, or – take advantage of a moment when get up from your computer to reboot itself.

Perhaps already burned out of this then you know: Windows format if you have any open documents and downloads not ended.

If this action occurs at night, when your computer is running and you in your sleep, so she might interrupt maintenance scheduled for the night as tests for viruses, defragmenting, etc..

In short, unhealthy and sometimes unpleasant.

How do you turn off the boot

If you use the Pro version of XP, you can cancel the automatic boot easily:

A. Enter a command prompt and type gpedit.msc. Click Enter.

B. Navigate to Computer Configuration / Administrative Template / Windows Components / Windows Update.

C. Locate the option No auto-restart for scheduled Automatic Updates installations. Double check and make.

D. Change the setting window that opens from Not Configured or Disabled to Enabled.

That’s it.

What do other Windows versions

The method described also works with Windows 2000 SP3,  Windows 2003 and Vista.

In Vista has another solution: enter the command prompt, type – “net stop windows update” tap Enter. Windows Update is now disabled. It will restart next startup.

The Home version of Windows XP will have to use another solution – a change in Registry (if you do not know how to how to back up first, better to avoid):

A. Enter the registry editor navigate

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / Software / Policies / Microsoft / Windows / WindowsUpdate / AU

B.  Change the value for NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers to 1 (if it does not exist create a urinal DWord).
